I got my daughter (12yrs) a shuffle for her birthday in sep, I loaded songs on to it no problem ( not computer literate at all) and she loves it.

So tell bf he's wrong.

I'm sure she'll love it. You just install iTunes software on your PC and load in the CD's. A 12 yo will easy work it.
#3
easy as peasy.
it was the sony that gave me problems (doesnt work as good on mac!)

Is he jealous or simple? If I can manage it anyone can!

Yep loading songs onto the shuffle is very easy.

my hubby loves his - he has three - as they are so small he keeps losing them then when I buy another he find it!

Cheers everyone, feel better now, he is just an idiot and thinks he knows everything, think the new little wifey had something to do with it as well,

I love mine it's no problem, my husbands MP3 is a pain to get songs on.

whats wrong with all u ppl - the shuffle is sh*t - it doesnt have a screen, so doesnt even qualify as an iPod IMO
without a screen, how can you know what song to select?

you should either get the Nano or Touch - Nano 3G/4G if you want something compact or the Touch if u want a device that can do virtually anything your computer can.

# if the Shuffle was a games console, it would be the Wii.
# Nano would be an XBOX 360/PS3
# Touch would be a PC

I think I have to agree here.
I don't think a 12 year old would be too impressed with one of these.
One of my daughters is 12 and I know she just wouldn't use it.
It might well be easy to load songs onto, but you try playing a particular track back that you want.
You have no idea what is on there or what order it is in. You will only know 'cos you loaded it yourself, but are you going to remember the running order and the like.

your partner has a point you have to use itunes and it can be a pain and can be locked to using only 1 computer unless you muck about downloading the hacks etc

personally i would never use an ipod at all they have rubbish sound and you have to use the apple software

i prefer the ease and sound quality of the creative mp3 players just drag n drop from any pc

apple is a lifestyle choice and i choose not to

....

its for a 12 year old guys!!!

Its a good wee robust mp3 player. Its something she can have all her songs on, and thats all she will be wanting it for.

Shuffle is fine. :)

I got my 10 year old one for her first mp3 player in august and shes hardly used it. She prefers to use my old 1gb creative zen she found in the back of a drawer due to it having a small lcd screen.

Shuffles are ok if you only have a couple of albums worth of songs on them but it can be pretty boring hunting through a dozen invisible albums worth to find a certain song you want.

he's wrong, if she is into music then the shuffle is the easiest thing to put tracks onto, mp3's are for videos and a lot of those cheap ones are a right nightmare to load things onto so i reckon the shuffle is the way to go!!!! surely its your choice what to give her anyway, let him concentrate on his own prezzie!!!!!!

MP4s are for videos. MP3s are for music.
Most players are drag and drop, what could be simpler.
How many of those cheap ones have you tried.
Ipods use itunes to load the music on, not so straight forward to the uninitiated.

Surely shuffles are just for the gym?

I reckon (funds permitting) you should get something with a screen on so you can choose what you want to listen to.

that's why he's the EX.

glad to see some of u guys agree with me.

i just dont see why anyone would opt for the Shuffle over a Nano (apart from price) - but pure functionality overules that.

also, how can you put up a statement saying that the shuffle is easy to put music onto? one iPod is just as easy as another, whether its the Shuffle, Nano, Touch or iPhone.

you should get the Nano 4G IMO - just shake it to shuffle the songs
