I am going to buy a Canon Ixus 860 from Amazon. Amazon offer camera insurance quite cheapily. Its £10.99 for 2 years, £18.99 for 3 years, £45.00 for 5. I have never had a digital camera before, do they have a tendency to go wrong? The insurance covers accidental damage and breakdown (excluding normal wear and tear). There seems to be a big gap between the price of 3 year insurance and 5 so they obviously expect more claims then.
I wondered about going for 3 years as £45 for 5 years is a quarter the price of the camera and I suppose the camera will be out of date anyway in 3 years time... on the other hand I dont usually replace equiipment that often.
All views very gratefully welcomed.
