Hi folks,

I'm after a NEW Dual Core PC for under £200 (if that's possible). I want to buy new, following bad experiences in the past buying used/refurbished. I don't need a monitor, keyboard or anything else, just the desktop PC.

Within my budget I would like 1GB RAM, 120Gb HDD (preferably 250GB though), XP or Vista Premium + not sure about processor speed (can anyone advise?) Maybe asking for too much here, not sure?

Don't need this for gaming, but tend to have a number of MS Office packages, Internet, music etc on the go at the same time.

BIGPOCKETS.CO.UK seem to have some good deals but they are 'sold out' on their best ones!

Thanks for any help or advice anyone can give me!

I would go with the Dell Vostro as it includes next day onsite warranty

i built a pentium d system (came out before pentium dual core, but still dual core and faster than pentium 4 system for a chunk less than 200 quid)

3.4 ghz Pentium D (equivelant of a entry level core 2 duo) £30 with fan/heatsink off this forum.
2gb DDR 2 ram £15 (off this forum)
80gb ide seagate drive £10.00, free delivery ebay
80gb western digital ide drive, (transferred this from previous system as it saves rebuying xp/vista (staying with xp)
Dvd Rw Drive (transferred from other comp, but can be picked up from around 10/15 quid)
2 ide cables, about 2 quid
system fan (tranferred from other pc, around 2 quid)
motherboard, was a foxconn one, not the best of specs, but still good enough to run a pentium d 17.99 delivered off ebay
slim black case, won for 21 quid delivered on ebay (has led/audio switches/push on button etc)
belkin usb 4 port card, 14.99 off play.com

that comes to around 125, but i am going to add a graphics card to it soon (256 agp, which can be sourced for around 20 quid) not amazing, but still upto date with today.
