My kid sis has a brand new unopened HD2 , but doesn't want it .
A chaps offered her a 32GB 3GS iphone in exchange but he also wants £100 additionally.
Is it fair . Forget the diverse versatility of both types of handset...Just going on the value match for match .

Is the HD2 PLUS £100 WORTH EXCHANGING FOR A 32GB 3GS IPHONE ??

Thanks

Hi,

For the last 2 days I've studied the HTC HD2 indepth as I'm looking at getting my next Mobile very soon.

Strictly looking at handset only value - The Iphone 3GS 32G is around £700-800 unlocked (cheapest around £550-600 but locked into a particular provider) and the HTC HD2 is around £400 so £100 cash difference would seem extremely good!

Can you just clarify - Has your sister got the 'HTC HD2' as that's what I've based the value on? (Doesn't have 'Touch' in the name though some retailers label it that way). There is also the 'HTC Touch HD' which is around £100 more than the HD2 @ around £500 but still a good deal with the £100 difference

Suprised to hear HD1 is more expensive than the HD2 , used HD1 for ages..hacked it out & pimped it up until it got stolen by a patient. To be honest you can get the same functionality & on a smaller handset by buying an older winmobile & installing win6.5 rom..The phones are practically the same .It's the operating system ( win 6.5) that makes them attractive.

BEST WAY GET A NEW BUT SLIGHTLY OLDER HANDSET MODEL RELEASED IN THE LAST 12 MTH & INSTALL WM6.5..

My sis offered me the HD2 but I demurred
Anyway now using a HTC Touch Pro (Raphael) which I picked up new for £50, and installed TAEL WINMO 6.5 ROM & tweaks .. makes it much more versatile than a standard HD2...and very compact too. Also just got the S740 (£50) from Orange bromley ..pimping that up too.
The latest handsets have snappier processors (1GHz...more than you need as opposed to the 528MHz in the slightly older WM6.1 models ) & "better" camera chips..otherwise they're all pretty much the same under the hood...just repackaged casing and new OS and finger touch..the touch pro1 support's touch & stylus!
By the way the "Touch" prefix is just to emphasize that this is a windows professional handset as opposed to a windows STANDARD smartphone.... have been messing around with the devices for about 10 years actually. It used to be that on OS versions before windows 6.1, you had to get software specific to either the windows STANDARD-phone version or windows professional (touch) version...doesn't matter now as since the inception of windows 6.1, any program written for the winMo-OS platform will work on touchscreen or non touchscreen handsets
