Hi
Pick yourself up a second hand Cannodale Bad Boy from evilbay...I've seen a few go over the last couple of weeks, at less than £300, in some cases, less than £200.
It's a great bike, and at that price, hard to beat!

Looks good. Claud Butler, good make also. Nice price with some good spec on it

Good find, most other place have it for £500+

I ordered my Kona Shred from here -

http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/

At the time was the best price and had nearly £200 off the retail price, so may be worth having a look.

Still not decided Harry?

Did you get to try some out. I'm afraid I couldn't help out with shops in your neck of the woods. To be honest this isn't the best forum for this kind of question (although there has been some really good suggestions so maybe I'm talking out of my hat!)

For specialist knowledge you could try the forums at

I may just do that

I'm now looking at this bike and have tryed it

Felt are a newish brand, with a reputation for good quality frames with decently specc'd components at a good price.

There maybe better bargains to be had, but if you've tried it and it fits I'd say its worth the risk to get something good that fits...

Hi all

I have taken the plunge on the Cape Wrath d27 after spending the weekend looking in the local bike shops and all over the web. Same spec bike this year is well over £550 so think I havea good deal.

The only thing I am worried about is I am 6'3 and have gone for the 22" frame off the web which 'should' be fine but I couldn't test a 22" frame locally so worried it will be too large for MTBing - anyone else here my size with a 22" frame?

About the same if not the same. I'm getting it a Evans cycles and they price match the inter net
#14
I wasn't aware they price matched internet prices - useful to know if this 22" one isn't quite right!

My instinct is a 20" would be a perfect fit for me but until it turns up tomorrow I won't know as no where else has 22" ones to test :(

Have you seen the bike in any shop, i've ordered it and should have it on thursday or friday. I've only see the pic's on the internet. But it looks nice and has a good spec
#16
Nice one guys. I hope you enjoy it. I don't use mine too much anymore (moved on to road bikes) but spent many a happy evening night riding through the woods with a bunch of mates.

Fit is a tough call, some people like the bike small with a long seatpost, others (like me) prefer the bike to fit 'just' right...
#17
I have played with the 18" one in a local shop and it looks good apart from the stickers being a little flashy maybe imho.... For the money you can't get anywhere near the same spec for less than £500 so as long as you can either live with the yellow stickers or can get them off :) we both should be happy for amny years with this bike.

By the way I have also ordered a 20" off the web too and will cancel if the 22" fits but I am 90% sure 22" is going to be too big as every other 20" bike I have been on feels about right - should see today when the 22" arrives and In unbox it v carefulyl
#18
Well my 22" frame came today and it feels more like a 20" so I have kept it. Went out on it this afternoon, think it's a very nice bike and looks better in a larger frame than the 18" I previously looked at. Let us know how you get on with yours Harry

I will do, i just hope i have ordered the right size 18", i 5 ft 10

If you can get some pic on, how much did you end up paying
#20
I ended up paying £369.95 + delivery at Bike Outlet - they have a great large picture on their site but I will try and take a pic of mine later if I get time.

I would say the 18" would be fine for you as I am 6'3 so I have about 5" on you and 22" (my frame) - 18" (yours) is 4".

I'm due to pick it up today from Evans cycles, they did say it would be sorted for Friday like.

I can't complain they are going to price match the £369 and give me 10% off anything else i buy on the day.

I'll let you know if/when i get it

I just need a bike rake now

I try too !!!!!

Any way fingers crossed I pick my bike up today

Can you recommend any equipment I should buy
#27
I think a car bike carrier is a must for me and that is what I am going to be investing in ASAP as putting bikes in bits around our baby's car seat with my wife looking on as mud splatters everywhere!

As for £2000+ bikes - these are total overkill for 95% of people who want to get into mountain biking imho.

I see you are up near Newcastle Upon Tyne? I can recommend Chopwell Woods and the Powerline Trail where I went for a blast today but it is a bit of a slog getting back up the long hill on the way back!.
