I would add $49.99 and get a decent LCD:
http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/LCDandPlasmaTV/LCDandPlasmabyScreenSize/32to37/f/1155/178856/toshiba-37cv505-37-hd-ready-digital-lcd-tv.html
37" (94cm) Visible Screen Size, Integrated Digital Tuner, Resolution 1366 x 768 Pixels, Brightness 500cd/m2, Contrast Ratio 17000:1, 3 x HDMI Sockets
And 3 easy payment :-)

You say in your post you were originally looking for a 32", I am too. Have found this Sony in John Lewis for £449 - £50 trade in = £399 including 5 year guarantee as standard & free delivery:

This has today been reduced in John Lewis to £399 - £50 trade in (up to 18 September) = £349, which I didn't think was too bad for a 32" Sony TV
