i have been looking for sage account courses online and went to the official sage website where they told me to do all the modules it would cost me £519

i went to reed website and saw a sage 50 accounts course

https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/sage-50-accounts-course-level-1-2-3/57538#/courses/sage/online?pricefrom=1&priceto=100

it is only £39 for the 3 levels and is provided by somewhere called oplex careers. i want a qualification out of it and it says it is a CPD Certification.

I want to know if this course is legitimate or not or a waste of £39. I don't particularly want to spend over £500 on a course i know i can get much cheaper for a fraction of the cost

Where are you going to get a level 3 anywhere for £39 ?

No where.

i am asking if businesses look to this as a good thing to have or as useful as a chocolate teapot.

it's more useful to then show you have some experience using sage. The certification means very little..

I guess CPD stands for Certificate Personal Development - waste of time and money. When it comes to any proprietary software courses you are taking a huge risk investing your own time and money.
If you are already working in an accountancy role you need to convince your employer to sponsor you through the training they see as necessary. If accountancy is a role you want to move into - by all means do general accountancy qualifications - but better still again convince an employer to train you.

CPD is continuing professional development, usually chartered professionals will have to do x hours a year of CPD to keep their chartered status.

Are you trying to do the course to get a job in accountancy?

if it costs £39 it's most definitely not legit

not particularly. just the majority of administrative jobs i look at say that a working knowledge of sage is desirable
