Ive got a big car event coming up..and i need...

Well i say i need :giggle: Id LIKE a new gear knob and pedal set.

Would like pink :giggle:  but cant seem to find any.

Ive looked on ebay, and all there stuff is tacky etc.

Dont really have a budget in mind, cos i want my car to look spanking (this is the final small mod im doing) but dont go crazy, i aint paying £200 lol!

If you cant find pink, i have silver alloys, and my car has black leather, so im guessing black/silver/crome would be ok :-D

Ta guys if you find anything.

I'm sick of modding cars now lol - moving over to bikes :)

What car have you got ?

Well the mods ive done so far on my car are:

Car Star decals (may sound bad, but there not the tacky all over job theres only 3 on the bonnet - there quite small, and 3 on the back, and 3 tiny ones over the side repeators)

Clear side repeators.

Green Perfomance Air Filter - proper lush, she sounds gorgeous!

Chrome exhaust trim.

Personalised plate - which has stars on it aswell (i count this as a mod, as the plates were bought to go with the car)

Im thinking of having my car lowered aswell, but that will be the last thing i do to it, it looks good enough as it is.

I dont like the first gear knob/gaitor or pedals - there also on ebay, and there horrible!

But im loving that last gear knob - just off to have a look, would like my knob and pedals to match if possible :)

I darent ask my fella to give me a hand - hes spent £££'s on his car and its quite heavily modded (but it looks well lush) and hell have me spending thousands lol!

Hahahahahaha

Sorry but that's all i can say about those things designed to make crap cars sound faster.

PMSL i dont want my car to sound faster, i just wanted to make a bit of noise.

Funny, you should say that, i have friends with 1.8 vvc's etc - they use k&n air fitlers, hmmmm, are they trying to make "there crap" cars which have had thousands spent on them sound better? I think not.
#5
dcx - your talking b0llocks !!!

I have a green panel filter on mine too - made a huge difference !!

Few of my mods:

BAS Stage 2 Remap
Sachs racing clutch
Uprated dogbone mounts
Tinted rear lights
Green panel filter
Re-spaced rear lettering
Custom rear strut brace
De-Locked
Cupra front grille badge
Chrome grille
Chrome mirrors
Sparco front strut brace
Civic aerial
Fabia rear wiper
JBS short shifter
Cupra R Splitter
BT Pioneer HU
RA Compact
Foldy heated mirrors
#6
Wow, thats some list you have there!

And im glad someone agreed with me about dcx's comments.

I guess, being a girl, i dont wanna push my car with mods, as i might look stupid - so im just sticking with little small ones - might bite the bullet and get a better exhast though, instead of fitting the chrome trim.

Like the idea of tints, but seriously dont wanna push it too much, i just enjoy driving my fellas car, its pretty ace :-D

CAI (Cold Air Intake) would give a couple of extra HP Where as a SRI (Short Ram Intake) May actually reduce your power as its sucking in air from a warm engine! Also there can be dangers with a CAI of hydrolocking the engine. Panel filters give a slight inrease in BHP but not something that you would notice, TBH none are particularly worth it! I've got a 2.7 V6 and I just cant be arsed!
#8
My cars a 1.6, so its not the end of the world, i get some response when i put my foot down :-D better than the 1.1 metro anyway!

I dont want my thread to turn into some great big debate about car mods (specially not air filters) each to there own and all that...

I dont agree with everyone elses choices of mods, but it keeps me happy so its all good :-D

I just dont want my car to be run of the mill, everything ive done to it is to put my own stamp on it :-D
#9
Got mine over 200bhp now - had to get the Sachs racing clutch as my standard clutch was clipping after the remap.
#10
Buy the max power magazine. I have had some great stuff from there, not tacky at all but the price reflects that. I have an Astra that i have 'pimped' out lol, my sons words not mine but i also have a new Vectra VXR that is my 'family' car but unfortunately my hubby wont let me mess with that!
Motor World of all places have some good stuff, i bought a nice pink and black leather steering wheel there along with my 17 " Alloys and a Scorpion full stainless steel system which cost a lot but worth every penny! I bought lots of bits and bobs from Maxpower such as car mats, gear stick, tax disc holder, all the essentials! Definately dont over do it, some of the cars i have seen ... shocking! I always think a good set of wheels and a stainless steel system and your on your way!
#11
Ive already got lovely alloys - dont want to change them :-D

As for motorworld, had an issue with them selling me a used sat nav as new - and there branch here has now shut down - i have had a look at there website though. But reluctant to buy anything.

Cars do look pretty good lowered, my fellas is lowered, its funny when we go out and theres speed bumps :-D

I may have mine lowered, ive seen it photoshopped - just not sure whether to do it!
#12
Be careful if you have it lowered. Mine is lowered and i am on my 2nd bumper! :giggle:

Any bl00dy bumps in the road or even worse speed humps :whistling: i cracked the bottom of my last one, not only that i find it is a VERY bumpy ride compared to my other car and low profile tyres dont help the situation. If i wasnt so lazy i would adjust it!
#13
Coilovers are the way forward :)
#14
do you guys have any pics of your "pimped" cars? im so entrigued.
#15
Mine isnt quite finished yet, i have some photos of my car stars though if anyone would like to see?

Really need to take some of the engine bay aswell, as i dont have any in my collection with the new filter :)

Ill be taking plently of photos of the finished project at the car show though :)
#16
Is that why my tuned diesel can produce over 200bhp & over 330lbs/ft torque ..........................

I agree, I'd LOVE to see them, they are sooo COOL and such a wise investment..:whistling: :giggle:
#18
To be fair - mine "looks" pretty much standard

If people enjoy doing it & have the cash to burn, then why not ?

I've bought a bike now though - you'll never get that same thrill in a car :)

How do you thrill in a "slightly" faster car that normally looks Naff even to the un-trained eye. ? It's like setting fire to your pound notes...:giggle:
#21
:whistling: :whistling: THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!!!

I dont wanna pi$$ on any1's chips but when you start talking about max power, K&N air filters, i can honestly say you aint got a clue. Not one mention of a descent aftermarket product or descent car magazine.

DCX - Props for stating that green air & K&N's are completely PONY....:giggle:

Before i get a wave of people telling me i dont know ****....Go and look @ the lexus owners club and search for "TheDon". His Supercharged IS200 is just one of the cars i've helped build over the last few years. Even one car of the show at JAE...the biggest Jap car show outside of Japan:whistling:
#22
here's my car. I must stop spending money on it though.

And a green filter is not going to help, however a K&N filter on some cars in the stock air box which has correct air cooling is better then a standard paper filter. But at the end of day unless your running big BHP (800BHP) then in reality stick to stock air intakes.

I agree cars do eat money and many see it as a waste however it is a hobby. Some people fish, some people knitt, some people garden. I modify my car hopefully tastefully. http://img475.imageshack.us/img475/7276/dsc05660rv1.jpg
#23
I like the car killerferret - tastefully modified rather than OTT ricing which I hate!!
Adding to the earlier posts, best to try a CAI, as that might maintain or slightly increase the BHP.

Oooooo How much is ur supra chuckin out? Nice bodykit!
#28
My car still looks standard id like to point out.

And, you can all slate us and our cars if you like.

I loved my car when it was standard, ive only done things which enhance its apperance IN MY OPINION.
End of the day, im not going to listen to your lots negative comments - as you dont have to drive it do you :)

My car looks sweet as, and im happy, end of!

And, as someone else pointed out, im sure everyone whos posted something even slightly negative has some sort of obsession that they spend there hard earned cash on which wont accrue any value at all - so stop poking your nose's in - jealousy really isnt a good trate!

Hi there, 400BHP / 417 torque at the fly from a rolling road and we know what those figures are like.

so I say 332 BHP at the wheels as I know thats a real figure. That will do me for now. Im too young to have this car really and dont need anymore power.

Im 24 now but bought my first Supra when I was 20. Like I said cars are my hobby and when done tastefully I think its a great hobby. I dont hang around in car parks and I dont find the need to drive around at full blast, just a hobby I enjoy....ohh and its my daily driver :w00t:

I dont think its jealousy, unfortunatly the only time people see modified cars are racing around the streets being idiots in their Nova's or on TV being told how bad everyone is who modifies their car.

Its also to do with the attitude of the younger people generally who modify cars. When people meet me then see my car they say never imagined you as a 'boy racer' type. And I just say im not because how many boy racers do you see in these as well as other reasons.

It reminds me of businesses really, everyone remembers the bad reviews of companies. 1 good review may get you one more customer, 1 bad review may lose you a 100.

does ur car ever get keyed by b*****ds killer? it would attract quite a bit of attention to heartless yobs.

its great to mod cars, tho ive never done it, but its stupid if people with a 1.0 litre micra mod theirs. Don't think ill ever be able to mod my own cars, cos the first car im goin to buy is good enough in appearance, gonna take a while to save up tho.

wen at the lights i see a rubbish car with a huge exhaust and nuthin else in front i try to keep up wit its acceleration wen it turns green and most of the time i do :D lol, shame my car dusnt say its a 1.0 litre on the back, they think they look the biz goin down the high street.

Unfortunatly it gets loads of attention. People always come up to me in car parks to talk about it. I dont mind. Last weekend i had to 80 yr old ladies asking me to let them look inside. lol

I have been lucky so far, worst is chewing gum thrown out the window while driving, so turned around caught the car up and followed them, after I had scared them for a little bit I went home :-D

Thanks for the rep people, you know who you are

Ive just lost my rag a bit that ive posted a deal request and its turned into a general slating due to the fact i mod my car.

My car ISNT crap, its not a 1.0 litre either (its a 1.6 so i can stand my ground most of the time - not that i try or need to - i dont mod my car to race people in it)
Ive modified it, bcos i simply want to make the car my own, and want it to stand out a little bit from the crowd - my car brings me my freedom - i spend alot of time in it - whats so bad about wanting to make it look a little better?

But, ive got friends who modify there 1.1s is it the end of the earth really? Its their money, business and car!

Get off your moral high grounds you lot sometimes!

i feel you think that i am slating you

sorry but you are being too defensive about every post on here, i was just giving my opinion, wasnt directed at anyone. i DID actually say i think its good to mod cars.

NEVER did i mention ur car was CRAP or a 1.0 litre, my words were 'but its stupid if people with a 1.0 litre micra mod theirs'. i used "people" and "theirs" not "you" and "yours", refering to OTHERS, and i didnt say "those who mod their 1.0 litres should crash and burn", i cudnt giv a flying f*** wat they do wit their fricken money, i was only voicing my opinion
