kodi android box no sound. help please

hi. I would be grateful if anyone could help. I have an android box and haven't used it for a month or so. it worked fine. I switched on to install exodus which I did but none of my add ons have any sound now. I do not know very much about this whole box thing but I don't know why I had sound before today and now nothing. I would be greatful for any help. I have checked the wires and no its not on mute. thanks in advance

There has been lots of updates and also Jarvis16 is main program now for most kodi add ons

I did do an update on the settings bit but no different. I just didn't know if I had done something wrong

may nbeed to go into settings and check the volume / or when playing a movie click the screen a drop down menu appears click the sound symbol and scroll to bottom then reset the volume

​done that too. still nothing. That's about the extent of my tech with this box lol

If you come out of Kodi and play something on say youtube do you get sound? Lets be simple first and eliminate an issue with the entire box rather than just a single app.

Try restarting the Android box then start kodi

just stating "android box" is needle in haystack territory. there are tons of android boxes.

What difference would that really make though in trying to trouble shoot? If someone said they had an M8S/Firestick/Shield/whatever Chinese generic brand my first question would still have been "do you get sound outside of the app you are currently saying is not getting sound"

Personally I don't in the case of a sound issue unless the person is running through another sound system rather than direct through the TV. Even knowing the brand of the device is pretty useless without knowing which homebrew version or stock android version it is running. In most sound issues it software settings related or faulty cable.

Yes - then issue with settings on that app. Lets take a look at the apps settings.
No - Have you tried a different known working HDMI cable.

Must admit I did it once never noticed me headphones where plugged in and laying under some bedding so didn't even hear the sound blasting from the headphones!

A couple of times i come downstairs and everyone is huddled close around the TV because the android TV box turns the volume down by itself.
I think Diaz tonight, every time McGregor has fought at featherweight he has always had the height and reach advantage, Diaz might gas out quick because he took the fight at short notice so doesn't have a full camp behind him.

Yeah me too
M8s box - easy to show 100 different firmware versions, 100 different homebrew android versions, different launchers, different ram versions, different chipset versions but all labeled M8s.
Hopefully as River said she just needed to turn the sound up on the remote!

Actually i think 3rd round stoppage to McGregor even tho i do have a soft spot for Nate since winning The Ultimate Fighter when it was shown free on Bravo.

the box says T8-AMLV3. no sound on dexter or pheonix either when I tried last night. will try hdmi cable later. thanks for help so far couldn't get back on last night as toddler decided to get up. :(

have you tried settings>system>audio to see what the output is as sometimes my melee f10 remote is the device that is highlighted for playback.

Old post I know,but if you change the output in Advance settings to HDMI it should work.
Go and pull it back out the cupboard and try it lol.

I fixed this by going to programes, maintenance tool, fresh start. It wipes the kodi to fresh install. You will need to input the http://fusion.tvaddons.ag as the source in system adding. But it worked for me. After days of messing about with HDMI cables and settings.

can you see an annoying red dot or an x on the screen?. I had this problem and took ages to sort out.

Dude I have had no sound and this was out of commish for months until I just turned up the sound on the damn remote. THANK YOU even though I feel like an idiot lol.

Try on a different TV even if you have to take it to family or friends as that will prove its the box. Also try a different hdmi cable and a different hdmi slot. Possibly put in every hdmi port on TV. Change the audio settings to pcm on TV and turn off dolby. Turn up volume using code box remote and turn up TV volume. If that fails you may have a duff box
