Aren't you limited to certain makes/models of laptops with Home Access.

Here is Comets list (they only seem to list the Acer Extensa 5235)

I could well be very wrong, but I was under the impression that you get a very limited selection of laptops that you can buy with the Home Access grant. I don't think that you can just go and choose what you want.

I happen to think thius is a TERRIBLE way to use this sort of money (for better to give it to libraries who can install computers that can be used by many families not just one).

If you want to see if you are eligable go here

Yes it is really, i am sure some families will put them to good use for their kids. HOWEVER i am sure x100s will be on ebay or down the pub and sold to buy drugs for mum and dad. Shame really. I could put one to very good use :p

i know someone was too thick to sort getting online...even tho it came with free net for a year the kids never had it working....and they even have the support line.
I think its a massive waste of resources-i havent looked if we can get one as we have computers...just think money could be spent better elsewhere..
