With a £400 budget you should be able to get an i5 processor and a good spec the i5 will help with gaming. Try http://www.pricerunner.co.uk it will save you many hours of searching and get the best price for your money. I have used this site for a long time and saved a small fortune. Good luck

The i5 branding has virtually no impact on integrated graphics performance (it sometimes gives a 0.05Ghz speed boost) and the CPU isn't likely to be a limiting factor with the low end GPU performance at that price.

Generally you want the latest possible chip to get the best gaming performance. So 7000 series is better than 6000 series, which is better than 5000 (anything before that isn't worth considering). Intel do offer multiple integrated graphics options but the CPUs with the more powerful ones are fairly rare. Something like an i3-6167U would be great, but it's hard enough to find new.

Avoid the Pentium U models are they often have half the graphics power, but don't bother over i3/i5/i7 distinctions.

AMD's recent integrated graphics are potentially better, but they tend to be fitted in laptops with cooling systems inadequate to let them run at full speed so in practice they're generally disappointing.

Looking on Amazon warehouse this is probably your best option in terms of game performance at the moment:

Although it doesn't look like any great shakes generally. A laptop fitted with an i3-6100U would give the same game performance for less money or better quality.
