Remove the battery. Wait 10 seconds.
While the battery is still removed, connect mains and turn the laptop on. Anything?

What exact model is it and when was it purchased?

£15 plus postage...last order I put in with the royal mail option and it arrived next day.

It is obviously impossible to be 100% sure, but it does sound like the charging/power-board inside the laptop might be faulty.
Actually if the flashing light is on the charger, not the AC light on the laptop, it is likely the PSU that is faulty.

Some of the Medion machines have a 2year warranty, might be worth talking to them.

I meant to say you got to check first if the problem lies with your charger or is it inside the computer PSU (power supply unit ) where the charger pin fits in. PSU is the device inside the computer which supplies computer the power.

If the one bought from PCWorld makes your laptop work, it means the problem lies with the charger. Then you can return the one bought from PCWorld and figure out what is the cheapest option to get one.

Else if one bought from PCworld doesnt work, the problem might be with something inside your laptop.

Say if it is not the charger, then your money spent on the charger bought from somewhere else will be wasted.

The pin of the charger could be still faulty even if the light on the charger is ON.

So I guess the only way to find if the charger itself is faulty is trying power up your laptop with one which is perfectly in working order.
