Hi my sis is after a cheap laptop for around £200 if anyone knows of any good deals going? I've seen bigpockets sell them for around that, are they any good?
She only needs it for surfing the net, facebook and watching the odd dvd.

You will be very lucky to get a new laptop for £200.

The low end price for a new laptop is £280--£300, and of course they tend to be low spec machines (although probably good enough for what your sister wants to do).

You can try looking on the web sites at PC World or Currys (same company) for their refurbs, although even there, a laptop for £200 is going to be difficult.

Here is the Currys refurbs site, and the cheapest there (at the moment) is £270

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/cur_page.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1715124639.1228675947@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccccadefkkihlelcflgceggdhhmdgml.0&page=ProductList&category_oid=-27411&fm=1&sm=0&tm=4&show_all=true

Note that you may see cheaper than £270 but these are probably netbooks not laptops and they have very small screens and often no DVD drive.

There are loads of laptops deals posted here on HotUkDeals, so set your "Topics" above to "Computers" and then scroll through the last week or so. Asking for a cheap laptop tends to be the most common request on hot uk deals.

That is a netbook not a laptop (I warned about that in my original append).

It only has an 8" screen and come with no DVD player so she wont be able to watch DVDs which is what the poster asked for.

It also runs Linux rather than Windows which may be an issue.
