Resolution should say 1280x800 sorry!

Why do you feel you need 4Gb of memory ?

Unless you are doing some complex computing 2Gb is enough.

32 bit Windows cannot recognise more than about 3.2Gb anyway so anything above that is a waste.

You should be able to edit your original append.

you've got a very vague screen size there...ranges from an ultrportable to almost as big as a laptop can get.
first of all, apart from a few games, what do you want the laptop for? Where are you going to be using it?

Tend to run, Football manager (lots of calculations), I tunes, Lime wire and internet together amongst other combinations.... was looking for something that could handle that really?

I need one that is fairly portable as it does tend to travel a fair bit. I would prefer a smaller one however I am aware that the price goes up for small screen and power! So i'm not ruling out a larger screen (currently own a Dell Inspiron 15")

I think you've answered your own questipon. If you need a screen size of around 13 inches, then you simply are going to have to pay around £1000. If you wanted a size of around 15 inches you would be looking at significantly less.

Is weight not going to be a bigger factor then size in that case?

There's a 14" one here that's around £650 with your required spec, I don't know what the quality is like though. (I guess the 9300gs is around the same spec as the 8400gs)

They get good reviews for their desktops, I almost bought one from them a couple of months ago myself but by the time I was ready they'd stopped offering the processor I wanted so I ended up building myself. There were very helpful with the couple of specification enquiries I sent.
