Laptop memory upgrade - Help Needed

£0.00 @
I want to upgrade my laptop. It currently has PC2700 200pin 256MB x2 and I'd like to get 1GB extra. If I got a cheaper PC5300 200pin 1GB instead of a PC2700 200pin 1GB, would it still be compatible…

try http://www.crucial.com/uk/

and use their memory advisor, you need the make and model of your laptop.

worked like a charm for me

I thought PC2700 was DDR and PC5300 DDR2?.

Might be a good idea to use Crucial's system scanner to see what memory is compatible, DDR or DDR2:
