I know nothing about computers and laptops so please don't post things that isn't in laymans terms coz it will just go over my head,

thanks
fizzie xx

Assuming you're on ADSL boradband then something like this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/109521 would do nicely.

Great as a doorstop . It's 10yr old technology, it will struggle to run Windows XP at anything even approaching a usable speed. It's not even worth a fraction of what they're asking imho.

Also worth thinking about is the fact you'll get more for your money with a desktop...

Hehe you're not alone most of the world is non-tech savvy .

Is there a particular reason you wanted laptops? You'd get much more for your £££ with a desktop. Laptops wise, that Asus one is supposed to be very good, it runs Linux which scares some people, but it's supposed to be a breeze to use and will do everything you've listed up as requirements and more.
