Hi

I'm looking for a Laptop/Ultrabook around £600. Around 13 inch screen with an ssd, decent processor, good battery life etc.

I actualy bought an Asus 305CA from Amazon which came with a busted screen which has kind of put me off them.

I've also looked at the Acer Aspire S13.

Has anybody else got any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

To be honest I would suggest an Asus, one dud unit should not reflect the whole series. They seem to be the best value for money, in order to get better ultrabooks like hp spectre x360, Dell xps 13 etc. you would have to spend significantly more money.

Lenovo Yoga 510 2 in 1 14 inch. An i5 is about £600 and i7 about £700. Currys sell them.

Every few months Lenovo do a deal where they give between £150 and £200 back if buying a Lenovo over £500. I would wait until they have such a deal again - probably one is due again before Christmas.

The Dell XPS 13 inchers are lovely but they are stupidly over-priced IMPO. A friend of mine bought one for about £700 refurbished 2 years ago, it died this week and when he checked the Dell Outlet the same spec refurbished is £775 on the Dell Outlet. Crazy.

HP Envy 13 with aluminium body is worth a look. Can even get an i7 version. We bought ours from currys earlier this year.
