I gave loads of boxes away on my local freecycle, maybe worth trying a wanted ad. For sale I noticed both Ikea and Wilknison both had good size boxes for moving when I ws instore last week.

just go to your local supermarket at night time when they're sorting out the deliveries.

you'll be able to get stacks of flattened boxes, absolutely ideal, all you need is a roll of packing tape.

that's what we did and saved a packet

also it does not need to be a night time, crisp boxes usually work well + any store that sells large items will be happy to give you boxes

[QUOTE=yep already done this Asda are great and are keeping me some but most get sent back to somewhere to be recycled and they are not allowed to stop them.[/QUOTE]

just go to another supermarket sounds like they are being difficult, just go every day if you can and ask and you will build up a collection :) or go round lots of supermarkets all in one day

why don't you put an ad in the local shop-or free in the newspaper if you can-you might find soemone else who has empty ones-or ask a local shop to keep some for you, they might be more helpful.

We got a load from a shoe shop - they had big ones.

the asda story about sending them away is true, didnt used to be until very recently but they do actually get paid for their cardboard-having said that, they will be helpful-its just a case of who you ask.

the largest boxes you can get are the crisp ones-I suggest you go to your local at 9.05pm by which time the nighshift will be in,approach the person in the crisp aisle and ask for the boxes to be kept-they will do this IF you turn up to collect them at opening time in the morning-managers will not allow stuff kept for customers to be left lying around in the store.

there is NO point in asking anyone on dayshift for large amounts of boxes-they get asked all the time and the way asda works 95 percent of box opening/replenishment happens overnight-dayshift may give you one or two boxes if they are feeling generous, but nightshift are the people you need to see.

You could try Iceland, Farmfoods, Coop or Spar shops good luck

if you dont mind paying for them try ebay my SIL got about 10 really big ones for about £10, she fitted her whole house inside them, although she does only live herself, we needed an artic lorry to move all our stuff
