Welcome to HUKD :)
You have to be 21 to drink & gamble in Las Vegas & New York
(They often will ask to see your ID)
was just looking at your username & wondered if you are only 19/20

Stay at Treasure Island......perfect hotel and not part of the MGM group, a bit more cosy but the best beds in the world

Las Vegas is great although I do like to drink and hit the Casino :)

I find it best to book the Hotel and Flights seperatley - I use http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/travel-discussion/704925/?start=2500 to find the Hotel, although typically the deals come out within six weeks of going and would go with Virgin for the Flights - BA now fly to Vegas direct as well, but think Virgin come out cheaper.
If youy dont mind changing planes check out orbitz.com - can save a few quid but personally never thought it was worth the hassle.
If you are after a package a few friends have had success using Expedia.

Not sure if a fight date has been announced but as soon as it is prices will jump for both rooms and flights, I've only stayed at the Bellagio but next time looking at the Mirage - key properties for me would be Flamingo, Bally's, Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Planet Hollywood as that grid is where I spend most of my time - dont be fooled the place is HUGE!

Oddly enough I'm looking at potentially going in March, need to look into the Boxing Dates!

thanks, i know the prices will go up if the fight goes ahead, but i dont really wanna book anything if the fight doesnt go ahead, ive been looking at hotels.com and tripadvisor about hotels, but i think continental airlines was one of best flying to newyork and then onto las vegas, anyone flown with continental before?

For flights you can check out http://www.kayak.co.uk.

I also subscribe to travelzoo's newsletter http://www.travelzoo.co.uk. They send out the best deals they can find so its quite good to keep an eye on. A lot of hotels in America will not take payment upfront and will allow you to cancel up to a day before you're due to stay. Best to use this time to shop around and if a bargain comes up then take it!
