Last minute trip to London with a 10yr old - any cheap ideas please?

Hi there,
We are meant to be camping this weekend but due to the dodgy forecast decided to go to London instead.
We've been to the NH and Science museum before but just wondered if anyone had any other good ideas where to go please?
Many thanks

National Gallery, on Trafalgar Square, free. Has some classics, Constable - The Hay Wain, van Gogh - Sunflowers, Monet - Water- Lilies and more.

If you go to national gallery go look at the painting... The ambassadors... If you look from the right side with your head near wall you can see a skull. Lots of broken things in painting to show tension at the time. It's very clever. A 10 year old may get board in there to long. If you have a tube ticket you can get a 3rd off the river cruises and worth doing from Westminster to Tower of london. You see loads from river and guides are good. To many to sights to mention. Walk from Westminster to Covent Garden and on to leister square for food. You pass loads. We Park in Hounslow tube J4 m4 and there are 3 tube stations.£5 parking and adult £9 tube all all day pass . Plenty of other tubes around London I guess. Other may have better ideas than mine. Have fun

If your coming this weekend then its the Whitecross Street Arts Festival
Saturday and Sunday 12 to 6pm loads of stuff for kids to do and its all free

If it does start to rain you are only 10 minutes walk from The Museum of London. There's enough to keep a child entertained for a week and again its all free

From there you are 5 minutes walk from St Pauls Cathedral, but if you don't fancy paying the entry charge just cross the road to the shopping centre One New Change and take the lift to the roof top .There you will find a free viewing area which faces St Pauls and also views across the roof tops of the city of London
Another cheap way to see London from the air is to travel down river to Royal Victoria tube station and take the cable car across the Thames to the O2 building . It costs about £3 adult and £1.50 child so long as you already have a London transport travel card.
