Hi ye faithful 'Dealers!

Been looking for an LCD TV for my girlfriends room. She has a really old tv in there and she currently uses her laptop to watch movies etc, so thought i'd try and source her a new tv.

Was hoping to get one with built in dvd/freeview but techinically it's not essential as I can always pick up a cheap freeview box and/or dvd from somewhere.

It seems I've missed out on the morrisson's deal a few weeks back which had all of these features and seemed pretty perfect for a bedroom.

So can anyone point me in the right direction of a cheap LCD TV (preferably DVD and/or freeview combi?).

Thanks in advance,

Denny x

I picked up the Matsui 22inch LCD TV/DVD with Freeview from Curry's for £199 for my sons room.
Very pleased with it.

Or this one at Tesco (get youre clubcard points too!) for £189. There were some Tesco discount codes on HUKD too - they may bring the price down even further.

MY advice is always when people buy these garbage sets. If you want quality pay the same money for a decent bigger set which is wall mountable, then invest in larger cables for a dvdplayer that can fit under the bed or on a shelf etc (Scart/HDMI/Component etc). I could have the PS3 under the bed facing out and have the tellie on the wall much more satisfying, I find with these sets though they are good for there "money" for what you get package wise the build quality and overall performance of the set is average, but you get what you paid for. Not trying to tell anyone that the set they got its garbage but it ain't going to beat a mainstream TV manufacturer.

Another point for me is when the laser goes on one of these things, not the easiest to replace or get replaced if in or out of warranty. Seperate dvd player cheap to replace. (No vibration on the unit also from these cheap DVD drives built in).

Freeview easy to get a bigger set with it built in.

Thanks guys! The little tesco one seems pretty decent.

Just spotted this one as well:

Would just need to pick up a seperate dvd player, which wouldnt be a problem, anyone got ones of those ones? Toshiba, so it's a brand name. Hmm.

I understand the logic behind that, but to be honest, I probably wouldn't be wall mounting it, it's just a wee set to watch at night and play some dvds on etc.

Not a bad idea though with the wall mounting and hidding things away with the extra long cables.

Not a bad little TV for the money.

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3496910/Samsung-Pebble-19-SM932MW-HD-Ready-Widescreen-LCD-TV/Product.html?cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Electronics-_-LCD-_-Samsung%2BPebble%2B19%22%2BSM932MW%2BHD%2BReady%2BWidescreen%2BLCD%2BTV&source=5065&engine=froogle_electronics&keyword=Samsung+Pebble+19%22+SM932MW+HD+Ready+Widescreen+LCD+TV

Seen this on Ebuyer before for £119. But that has Freeview. Toshiba sets are good atm. Would stay away from Sony though shocking picture. Samsungs have speaker problems on the larger sets.

That little Samsung pebble looks pretty decent, shame it doesnt have freeview built in.

Yeh its very good quality picture. Sound doesn't go to loud, I bought mine with a 3 year warranty then upgraded to a 32" to play the games on you know, had to be done. So my bro's still using it smashing TV he uses in his bedroom for his PC and TV needs.

This doesn't look too bad and for a bedroom white could be a good move - £189.99 from Amazon
