I was watching School of Rock the other night & had an urge to buy a guitar...............so I did

Anyone know where I can get some literature from on how to play it & some music (Oasis etc). Would be great if it was free & in some sort of PDF, doc format etc

Thanks

www.pianosheets.org - it does do guitar tabs and literature... :santa:

Lessons are greatly encouraged though, even just 1 or 2 to get started. People do learn from tab etc, but it is very discouraging.

The best teacher by far is Bert Weedon:
http://www.bertweedon.com/
"the man who taught the world to play the guitar"......

......and you can't have a better recommendation than this:
"Bert . . . Thank you for all those tips on guitar playing that I got from your book, when I was young."
Eric Clapton
Bert Weedon's 'This is You Life' TV Show

The book:

Your local library might have a copy.

careful with the cheap ebay guitars..bought one last christmas for £50 inc postage...and a few months ago noticed the body had sunk...cheap wood...not great...

i have 4 guitars...one of them elec-aucustic and one electric... i use mainly the elec-auc as its very versitile and has a very good sound. if u have an electric guitar get on firebox and look at the smokey amps...they rock i take it with me wherever i go with my guitar heh.

chris UK i have thousands of tabs and programs and all that... PM me with what ur after and ill see if i can find my stash

I've got the ebuyer guitars and they're great. Remember its a complete kit - guitar, amp and accessories. £50 ffs, what more could you want?
£50!!! That's just a pizza meal for four!! :p

Get it and if your son is enthused with making his noise, then you can decide to invest more.

If it goes the way of other fads, flog it on fleabay and get your money back:thumbsup:

Take a look at www.licklibrary.com - their dvds are excellent!

A little known fact is that most of their dvds are available for rental via Lovefilm (tesco dvd rental et al) - so sign up with the various free trials to check them out!

There are lots of other music/guitar tutorial dvds on Lovefilm as well.

Yes good advice..they had a similar good offer on IWOOT but it has ended and so I'm considering the ebuyer kit whichhas excellent customer reviews...as you say no point in paying a fortune for someit that may end up unused after the initial enthusiasm wanes..
