I spent some time researching leatherman tools. In the end I got a Victorinox multitool. Much better build quality than a Leatherman in several people's opinion.

hi, i have looked at the victorinox tools very nice, however they all seem to have locking blades?

the reason im looking for the Juice Xe6 as the blades are under 3" and non locking, so is acceptable as EDC (every day carry) in the eyes of british law.

Unless you're 15 and wear a hood, I think you would be very unlucky to be stopped and the multitool interpreted as an offensive weapon. I thought about importing a leatherman from Amazon.com, but an unsure on the law around importing blades. Leatherman tools are almost half price in the US!

i know there is little chance, but im not willing to take the risk and face jail time,

there is nothing wrong with importing leathermans, only things you can't import are weapons which are banned altogether, like flick knives, auto knives, stealth knives. locking leathermans are still perfectly legal to use around the house.

i think i will be importing just hope customs charges are not too high if stopped.
