Hi

After 4 years i have deciding to leave Virgin. At the moment I'm getting 2mb for the price of £11.00.

I'm looking for a deal with speeds from 8mb to 20mb.

This is where your advice comes in.

I do not have a BT line. Which BB company would be my cheapest option with the BT line thrown in?

Or!

Which other company is there that takes the old NTL/AOL cable connection ?

Thanks

youll need a BT line for ADSL broadband, you only need n o BT line with cable.

Are you close to an exchange? ADSL2 is now out so upto 20 MBPS for some

Or why dont you tell virgin to sort it out and give you a good deal. i know people who are gettin 20MBPS for a little bit more

Phone up again till you get one, do not settle for what you hear after the first phone call. You will get a satisfactory deal off somebody eventually.

+ probably £99 activation of the old bt line if it is not activated.

Frankly try the following two options for phone line.

Post office Home Phone: They dont charge you for an activation (usually as they are outsourced to BT) and they have no 12 month contract
And get O2 broadband, premium package. Will come to around £15 for both phone an dbroadband with quidco.

THe second option, is BT is installing new lines for free if you sign a contract. Do that and get the BB of your choice, though I'd still recommend O2 broadband!!

no havnt got a phone line, cannot get a line with virgin. Took the deal 12 months ago, then they called me about 2 weeks ago to say it was going upto £25 told them i would phone sky as they have really good deals and said they could offer me the original price if i took another 12 months

Internet wise you would be lucky if you could get over 2megs with ADSL depends how far you are from your exchange even if you close the copper cabling may still be wired all over the place.

If your exchange as ADSL2 then you might get 20meg but then again you have still live near the exchange check what you can get from BT by going to http://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html then click postcode checker it will give you a rough guide. Also checkout http://www.samknows.com/broadband/ to see how far you are from your local telephone exchange... but like everyone else said phone Virgin to get a better deal ADSL is poor mans 2nd in most cases compared to cable.
