Sharm El Sheikh has its own Marine Park where its one of the best places to do Snorkelling/Diving, and one of the cheapest in the world too. If your into that theres many different Boat trips you can go on to visit the Reefs.
Ras Mohammed or Tiran Island.

These can be booked when you are there. probably cheaper anywhere but your Hotel.

Note - If you intend to do these you need to buy a VISA from the Airport on your Arrival. If you dont intent to do this or leave sharm at all, you dont need one. Simply write sINAI only on your Landing Card. They will push you to buy one but dont unless visiting the Reef or leaving for the other Egyptian Cities - Luxor & Cairo.

You can do these trips for over £100 where you fly, have all Entries paid for and Lunch.
Its possible to Travel overnight on a Bus for much less, if your only away for 1week, maybe 1 bus journey depending on your budget.

I definitely recommend the Quad Biking and you stop at a Bedouin Tent for Tea. Mostly a Tourist thing I think, but worth it for the Quad Biking

There is also a Monastery up in the Mountains. St Catherines,

Dahab - Recently hit in the Bombing. Is a coastal region where you can buy Gold

You can also visit Naamba & Sharks Bay, Eat out here depending what Board your Hotel has you on

Hope this helps for now.

No visa required for the Sinai Mountains. cant recall the Price, I wouldnt think its expensive.

At present my Parents are away in Sharm El Sheikh. They plan to take the Bus to Cairo, stay overnight and do the evening Nile Cruise
