If you're talking about Lepin well... Personally being a Lego fan I don't like it. It's basically stealing all of their IP.

Quality is apparently okay, minifigs aren't nowhere near as good. My concern would be what they are made of. Especially if they are for kids, what goes into their plastic to cut costs etc.

I would definitely avoid the Chinese cheaper imports - quality certainly not as good and not sure about how safe materials are when reading done online articles. I certainly
wouldn't give them to children to
Play with.

I got some of the mini figs to use on invites for my sons party, they looked ok but not as good as lego. I agree about the safety of the plastics, you never know what's in them but as I was just glueing them onto card it done the job I needed it to.

to think kids used to play with lead soldiers painted with lead paint.

Nothing wrong with the Chinese stuff I've bought. As long as your kids are old enough not to shove them in their mouths there shouldnt be an issue with plastic type anyway.

I've ordered the stuff before & side by side you wouldn't know the difference lego branding aside.

As for stealing their IP well there are plenty of European companies making/selling copies or variations thereof so don't see the harm it's not like it's a new product they've had a monopoly for long enough, also lego abused the patent process by registering dozens of different types of bricks to prevent clones using different attaching methods so if it's OK to abuse the patent process then making clones is fair play now.

Also there are high street shops like QD selling the copies too.

just sorting a box of 15kg of bulk Lego and have found a few handfuls of fake Lego, one by cobi and am surprised how good the quality is, most of the branded fakes you can't tell the difference other than the lack of Lego branding

got some, nowt wrong with it. Less than half the price too, win win

Considering Lego itself is a blatant copy of something that came before it then i hope people are continuing to rip Lego off

I've found the mini figures to be really good.

Exactly and have you seen how many idiots we have as adults nowadays? Best to try and stop that happening again with future generations!

My issue is the Chinese knock offs ripping off the exact sets made by Lego not the brick concept itself - as you say that is fair game as other versions are available legitimately in UK shops.

You also see people in eBay etc. Trying to sell the fake versions for the real thing which isn't on.

don't think you can blame that on lead.

i just played with Lego scalextric and mechano,
in the days when Lego was just blocks and imagination, did have some windows, roof tiles and green boards to make buildings.
