Now G5 is old...why G4 :(
#2
mine is fine at the moment, I've heard it only affect certain serial numbers.
#3
Don't do it. Not worth the hassle

I personally wouldn't risk it unless you know the main board has already been replaced. You will not be covered by a warranty if you purchase it second hand. Mine went wrong after 13 months and they repaired it but I owned it from new and it states that warranty is not transferable. Shame as it was a very nice phone and I have upgraded to the G5 so it didn't traumatise me too much!

I've had one from new release. Never had a problem and it is a H815. Since Marshmallow update it is even smoother and the battery is even better. Bought extra battery and Sd card and don't even need to use the spare battery.
Think about updating it but I went from a nexus 5 and this is great. Has NFC and wifi calling works well, camera is superb and android pay works on it. I would recommend, but sounds like a lottery with the bootloop problems.

Because i hope it doesn't but they are susceptible to the bootloop issue. When it happens it can be working fine one minute the next it can bootloop and unless you have everything saved like photos contacts etc can be lost.

Mine was working fine then the next minute the bootloop issue kicked in whilst i was waiting for a train at St pancreas. All i can say is thank god you can take the back off because by the end i could barely hold it as it was that hot.If i wasn't able to get the battery out otherwise it could well have exploded.
#10
what have you got now? I must admit sometimes, when using google maps and wireless charging it gets really hot.
#11
best phone I ever had and it's great value for money

#13
Ok Archer, Cheers. What phone do you currently use?
#14
I have a LG G4 its a great phone and since it went to be repaired after the bootloop issue never had a problem. Its a well known issue but LG wont do anything till it goes wrong

505-509 serial is affected as far as I know. But safe to buy one from hukd if you find one wuth serial starting above those numbers.

I had two 602 serials that went into the boot loop. One after a weeks use and its replacement after only four hours. I d only just picked it up from the amazon locker that evening. Great phone but couldn't trust the lg build quality anymore as they d promised to have fixed the newer versions but clearly hadnt for me

Seems all g4s suffer with bootloop. Seen many forum posts saying that repaired phones are getting the problem again. I bought my G4 as nearly new off ebay and it lasted 9 months. Lg refused to repair as not bought direct as new, so I sold for spares. Won't buy another LG phone..

Same here. Was a Nexus lover before but i wanted a phone that had a SD card port and removable battery, G4 was it. Had mine for over 6 months now with no issues. My serial is 601.

You will start to notice lag. Just the odd moment. That's one of the cores failing. Phone also seems to get hotter than ever before which you will notice. Within a week it will die and enter the bootloop. Seems to happen the most between 6-9 months old although can happen at anytime on the g4. That's what I read and thats what I noticed happened to me. Mine died while watching YouTube. I believe it's a when not if it will pack up. Manufacture hardware fault still unresolved. Just auto backup everything every day and enjoy the phone. I did. Loved the g4. Brilliant phone

I have a 505 device with no boot loop issue. My device had an unlocked bootloader and I am running cm14.

The device is great, the buttons on the rear of the device take some getting use to.

I am currently considering selling it as we have one too many phones in the house hold. The main reason why I bought it was because of removable battery and as card expansion.

hoping the G5 is at the £225 price in a few weeks! Holding out as my G3 is on its last legs lol

I notice on Ebay there was a LG G4 that had its mainboard replaced, are these more reliable?
