I've been looking at getting a fairly cheap tablet to replace my ageing ipad 2. The idea of a two in one (i.e. With keyboard attachment) appeals so I can sit on the sofa writing software in front of the TV. Argos are selling the Linx 10v64 for £200, but I can't find any other information. Anyone know if it's a new model or just a cheap rebrand? Any other models I should consider instead?

I'm considering this too. Did you go for it in the end?

I did. It's a good laptop-tablet (laplet?), I've put Sophos AV on it and it's still fast, it's handled all the websites that my iPad was struggling with (namely codecademy). But I am finding I miss the convenience of having apps on hand. I suppose that's the trade off when using Windows v mobile OS's.

Interesting, didn't know this was out. Can see it on Amazon though it says "released 3 November". It implies it has 2GB RAM, 64GB internal memory but that may well be a mistake https://www.amazon.co.uk/Linx-10-Inch-Keyboard-Storage-Windows/dp/B01M13PEHC

It was announced on the Linxtablet.co.uk forum as "Linx Versare" http://linxtablet.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=77&t=2182

"a couple of models, a 10" and a 12", with various configurations;
10 inch 2GB RAM 32GB , 4GB RAM 64GB
OR AN ALL NEW 12" LINX TABLET!
12 Inch 2GB RAM 32GB".

Looks like the same one. It's cheaper on Argos though http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/5496774.htm

Just checked and it's 4GB RAM and 64GB storage on mine.

Wonder if they have some sort of exclusivity deal, and until it becomes more widely available we won't see any reviews?

I had a Linx 10 (which I dropped and cracked the screen :( ) and ended up buying a Cube i7 Book. However, it runs hot, it would be perfect if it wasn't for the overheating issues.

Its windows 10 - you are not limited to apps - you can use the full programs which are superior to any apps anyway.

I've got quite a few guitar apps, tuner, metronome etc. I find it convenient to have those one click away so that I can quickly fire them up. So now I've got both my iPad and the Linx on the coffee table. The Linx probably gets more use now, but it hasn't fully replaced my iPad. Obviously YMMV.
