Hello,

I am visiting London soon and I have noticed that under-11s travel free on the tube. Could someone tell me how this practically works? I.e. How do you get through the barrier? I was planning to just use contactless for myself.

Also - does the free under 11 travel count for the bus in sidcup where we will also be going?

Thanks

Just use the bigger barriers used for going through with luggage/prams etc.
They will be able to go through with you.

Bus travel also counts.

Beware! this only works on London undergrounds. If you had to travel using National Rail in London, tickets are applicable to over 5s.
