Anyways, I'm after a 10M+ ladder to reach the top of the gable end safely and also to reattach some guttering on the back of the house (which has been leaking for 4 years!! - about time I tried at least), fixing an aerial, painting....you get the gist!
The ones I've seen are around £160 (on ebay Item number: 120275840755) but was wondering if anyone knows of elsewhere for less than this?

Why not hire one, to spend that amount of money for a one-off job is not really worth it

that's very true! hadn't really looked into that. It's just that knowing me I'd probably have to keep rehiring. Good suggestion though, thanks

where I live we have a sort of residents committee run by the local church and people can borrow things through that, you don't have to go to church or anything, it's just called a residents group. it may be worth asking at the local library to see if there is something similar where you are? I know that we can borrow ladders, chain saws & stuff like that (maybe not chain saws but you get the picture!)
