Finally decided to take the plunge and buy a VR headset. I've settled on the Vive but feel a bit bummed that I missed the Black Friday deals.

Cheapest I can see it right now is £760 which feels painful to say the least!

Anyone know of any cheaper options? I was considering eBay but I'm worried that if there was a problem with the headset it might be hard to get warranty processed.

Anyone know of any deals / vouchers to bring the price down a bit or any idea of a price drop in the near future?

mine is sealed in it's box, I'm finally trying it out tomorrow and if it doesn't blow me away then I'll post back here and sell it at a good price

fairly sure it's going to knock me for six though. I've read so much and the feedback for room scale VR is not far off 100% positive

what the what!??! with samsung's prices, I didn't realise HTC was priced at this point!
not being one to sway a made up mind, but isn't a brand new PS4 standalone console plus its VR, all for far less than £760 a better option?

But hamstrung with lower features and specifications,

that's surprising, didn't see HTC aiming for the better-than-PS segment of the market.
haven't really followed VR offerings, perhaps it's time i nipped down the shops and strapped on a set and see if they live up to the hype
as for a cheaper price, sorry, i'm no help on that front

Vaguely thinking about buying one myself, but figured I can wait until after Xmas and see if any deals come up. The time for deals on this kind of thing is not before Christmas imo.

If your employer is signed up for Perkz you can get 7% off at Currys/Pc World vouchers or about that. That's most likely what I'm doing if no sales come up by Christmas.

Everywhere selling it new is selling is for the same price as the official site or higher unfortunately.

The only deal I've seen is some 'free' games when buying a GPU with a VIVE.

Not really. While they both offer VR, the Vive does roomscale VR meaning you can walk around and interactive with items. Plus also as long as you have a decent spec computer the Vive will blow the PS4 version out of the water in terms of graphics quality.

Agreed cancelled my psvr pre order after trying out batman on it which was awful. Got my mits on the vive for my birthday and I have to say u can clearly see the difference. Blooming brilliant piece of kit and loads of free stuff to try out before spending on any software for it. You won't be disappointed!
