Looking for a bargain train set

Hello, I'm looking for a cheap train set for my son. Searching on here found a deal from Sainsburys for a Hornby Thomas passenger and goods train set for £35 but everywhere has sold out. Does anybody know of any good deals at the moment for a similar train set? Thanks.

Not Thomas (it's over £50 on this site) but a decent enough starter is the Harry the Hauler set by Bachmann from Hattons (a truly excellent seller of model railway items) here http://www.hattons.co.uk/store/category_list.asp?c=15#30-006 for £38 plus £4 delivery.

Harry the Hauler complete starter train set
Train set contains:

'Harry' diesel locomotive

Salt wagon "Saxa Salt"

7-plank wagon "Sheepbridge"

Brake van in BR brown

Circle of track

Transformer and controller
Track is fully compatible with other OO scale, such as Hornby and Peco (code 100).

The Thomas set is £57 and is here http://www.hattons.co.uk/store/category_list.asp?c=44#R9071 (about half way down the page)

It's more, but you get more track and a mat to put it on too.
Tesco do a fabulous one for £10 online and instore

Ikea used to do a really good cheap wooden set as well?
Cheers guys for the help so far. Ideally i'm after a Hornby/lima style electric OO gauge railway as he's outgrown the wooden sets:thumbsup:
