Most day insurance wont touch you.

Best bet would be to get added to your dads policy as an additional driver.

isnt the corsa good enough for a long drive and some "fun at night"
banned#3
have you tried brentwood? My son has an integra - and this insurance only insures modified cars.

prefer the BMW for power coz the corsa just isnt good enough for me. im a racing driver and the season is over so no more track time till next year either.

its more the acceleration and power out of the corners and feeling confident in the car being planted to the road i want. my corsa just dosent give me all the confidence i want to have some fun.

The answer to your question is no, no temporary car insurance company will insure you. I've tried for my son, didn't work.

To your other point, the bmw is being compared to a corsa but the BMW is the lowest output engine available. If your corsa is modified to a good extent will be more powerful than the Bmw. Innit.

drove this car on learber insurance for 2 months before i got a full licence and it was pretty easy to drive so no worries and i have all my driver training behind me which helps.

Can't believe no one has mentioned this yet, why not call up your insurance company and add your dads car on for a day? Don't know why you would start new insurance or add on to your dads. I used it so that I could run in a car I was selling after I had changed the oil, plus needed to get some fuel so the new owner would get home. I had been driving for less than a year, 25 years old at the time though I think and it cost me a bit less than £20.

My god, it's a 318! You obviously no nothing about cars :p Has a 0-60mph of just under 10 seconds, my Grandmas Fiat 500 1.2 has a 0-60 of 10.6.
Corsa 1.2 probably is the slowest 1.2 out there though.

But it's not his car, he can't insure a car that's not his plus is already insured, if it was to suffer misfortune, they could both claim it on their policies, and that's not allowed. The principals of insurance are that you should be no better or worse off than you were before the incident, so he has no loss for this car (as it's his dad's) so he can't hold a policy that could pay him the value.

He needs to get added to his dad's policy then they can call back tomorrow and remove him. Unless his dad doesn't know - I would have thought this would be the first thing they tried.

Yes it takes 10 seconds to 60 but you ever seen what happens 2tonnes of metal going at 60 mph hits a person?
#28
What would people rather drive? A BMW or a corsa but the corsa has barely any engine modications and my corsa standard has a 0-60 of 12. something cant remember but thats brand new aswell. Your choice people?

Well to be 100% accurate he actually says he is a racing driver, so maybe it is true. Although a racing driver who want to drive a 318i because it has more power probably has some issues they need to take care of, I get what you are saying.

i say this because it has more power than my corsa obviously and the racing season is over so no track time is my other reason

You are wrong. You can get insurance for a car which you don't own which is already insured by someone else. That' the main point of temp insurance. From confussed:
Temporary car insurance covers you for driving someone else’s vehicle or someone driving yours, and there are plenty of instances where this short-term cover may be required.

When you need short-term cover
You may decide to borrow a relative’s more reliable car for a long journey. Or you may be moving house and need a friend’s estate car in which to transport your stuff. Perhaps your usual car's in for repairs.
If he crashed his dads car with temp cover it has nothing to do with his dads insurance because his dads insurance will only cover his dad driving the car, not just the car in general no mater what happens to it or who is driving it. It works like that because his dad is giving permission for him to drive the car, so his son needs insurance to do so and nay claim will be made on his sons insurance while his son is driving.

'Tis true, you can get insurance for the same car even if its someone else's. You can insure the same car 32 times if you wish. The only thing not allowed is to claim for the same accident more than once, whereby you are better off after the accident. That would be fraud.

What racing do you do OP, F1? They really need to start paying better clearly.

Tis true. Also for example you can get insurance for a company where as long as one of the directors (for example) gives you the go ahead you can drive any car as long as you have the owners permission of the car and you will be insured when you are driving.

What do you race? If it's anything good then a 318 will still be terrible. It's about the worst model of bmw available.

It would appear he is real, and does 'race.' Just a bit cheeky saying your a racing driver and the season is finished when you drive a go kart.
