Looking for a good Digital SLR Camera 10MP min with a good Op Zoom for £100 - £150

Every time I see something worth photographing I forget to bring my camera!
However, my current camera is only a 4MP SONY compact style camera, which is useless as the Op zoom is only x3 & I'd like to be able to photograph a bit of wlidlife from a distance.

Can anyone suggest a good quality Digital SLR? I'm not looking for a professional peice of kit as this is only gonna be a part time thing, but any that you know of would be of great help.

Thanx.

you won't get far asking for a dslr in this price range

however, if it's a "bridge" camera, you can pick up bargains around the £70+ mark

saw a fuji 9500 or something similar the other day for about £75

good reviews

google it and see what bargains you can come up with

oh - and a zillion megapixels is no guarantee of a good image

go for the best quality lens possible

As previously mentioned, you wont get a DSLR for that kind of money.
I have one of THESE and I'm well pleased with it...the zoom is great :)

What about pushing the budget to £200? Anything worth getting?

sorry to hijack the thread but can I ask what other cameras you looked at?

I was looking at this in some detail and was considering it given the price is so cheap and the zoom is so good. Have you got any pictures you have taken with it that you can share? Would be very interested in the quality of the shots.

Thanks very much.

But worthing noting that with a dslr you'll most likely have to change the lens from the kit lens to get more than a 3x zoom. Then you'll need a tripod or image stabilisation to ensure your pics are sharp. Then you'll need a bag to store it all in. And then you'll want a new body. Then a new lens offering faster focusing, longer reach, sharper image quality. Then you'll want a new tripod because your new kit is a bit too heavy for your old one.

Beware: The path to DSLRs only leads to madness. (But the image quality will be alot better but not for £200).
