Looking to buy a friend a gaming keyboard, must be back lit, quiet buttons and mechanical I'm on a budge of £40 (on that note is there really any performance between a mechanical and normal keyboard?)

I've come across this deal which sounds pretty good

Corsair Raptor K30 Performance Gaming Keyboard

I have a corsair K95 and even though it's 3x your budget it's totally worth every penny, if you enjoy gaming I'd highly recommend spending the extra nothing worse than an uncomfortable mouse and keyboard.

I'd go for the K65, you could try and pick up a second hand one on eBay for near your budget.

Thanks matty is the K65 quiet and mechanical? and what effects does mechanical keyboards have on gameplay? is it noticeably faster response times or are we just talking nano seconds differences? i was wondering if you know any places to buy it, i need to buy it first hand preferably but ill have a look on ebay

@durzat thanks but im really stretched with the money i have, I could properly push it to £50, i had no idea a decent one would cost so much oO

K65 is uses identical tech as the K95 the only differences being is the K65 doesn't have the programmable hot keys, number pad or backlight if you can live without them its a perfect keyboard.

Speed wise - keys take less pressure to press and return quicker than membrane keyboard.

How about this one, it is cheap than the keyboard you posted, and its appearance is stylish.

the k 30 isnt mechanical it's rubber domes id say if you wanted to invest in a mechanical keyboard spend at least 60 pounds and no there isn't a massive difference between rubber domes and mechanical but mechanical do last longer and have a better feel to them

I use this

very comfortable keyboard, for both typing and gaming

I should also note, that it comes with spare wasd and arrow keys, which are red, that way you can quickly align your hands for gaming.
also looks cool having the different coloured keys
