Iiyama 24" Prolite looks good for £179.98 here http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=5DRQ&CategorySelectedId=11109&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11109,49690000,42940000,4294956336,50677 but it may help to know a little more about your likely usage mix.

I'm not sure why those are better but am prepared to be convinved!

The Iiyama has a far faster response time, VGA, DVI and HDMI, is Full HD and has built in speakers.

Mind you, if you're gaming I suppose that you've got a separate speaker set up anyway.

No need to get your knickers in a twist ;) it was just other options, the first i picked out as you might not want speakers, so would save a bit, the 2nd is a samsung and there have great screens, the 3rd is also a samsung and is 1.5" bigger at 25.5" and the OP asked for up to 26" so they are just different options for different reason

I do agree the liyama looks the better one so far but its from a make iv never heard of before, is it a good make? An do u know if it can be wall mounted? As i could do with wall mounting cos if i go to big it wont fit on my desk & being in the living im not sure my OH will want me to have a bigger desk.

Iv got some speakers but they are not that good i DO want some good ones but with being in the living i cant have them that loud. So im not getting any that i cant use to there full usage at the moment

The Iiyama can be attached to a wall as it has a standard 100mm VESA mount.

The Iiyama brand has been traditionally known as one of the top CRT computer monitor manufacturers for a long time. They were a little slow to get on to the flat screen bandwagon but seem to have made up for lost time recently with a spate of quality monitors at very reasonable prices.

Also, please bear in mind that any TFT monitor will have (relatively) lousy sound from its built in speakers. Virtually any pair of external speakers will be an improvement. If yours are not that great really then an inexpensive 2.1 set such as the Creative Inspire A200 available for £16.99 with free delivery from Play here http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/675/882/-/3477043/Creative-Inspire-A200-2-1-Speakers/Product.html?searchtype=genre will probably be a good bet. You can always run them at low volume when you want to but will still notice a big difference from the monitor's internal speakers.
