Looking for a good starter for the xmas meal this year bored with prawn cocktail and salmon mousse type things. Preferably ready prepared and either eat cold or just needs heating up. Only looking to feed 4.

Last few years we have gone with Anti Pasta, so grilled peppers, olives, artichokes, salami, Parma ham.
Your prefered choice of homemade soup (can be prepared in advance) and warm crusty bread? M&S do some nice goats cheese and carmalised onion tarts which I personally love, depends what food you like to eat really.
Lidls 3 fish roast. Can be cut into slabs and eaten cold. Lovely stuff. 8)
What about a pre-dressed lobster tail? or individual baked Camemberts?

Most of the supermarkets do them around this time of year.

This is one for your cheese board, most impressive at a decent price http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/deluxe-t-te-de-moine-with-stand-girolle-6-99-lidl-20858198)
Morrisons have got some good starters
Thanks everyone, bought hopefully what will be a nice starter in Marks & Spencers this morning, didn't go out looking for it, but it caught my eye. 10 minutes in the cooker all is needed, nice, easy and tasty hopefully
