Looking for a laptop (multiple uses)

Hoping to get into college this year and start learning programming/game development etc started messing with Unity 3D and other programs (Blender/Photoshop) wanting a laptop i can take to college and work on and then bring home and carry on rather then you USB sticks.

Currently have a desktop pc so i know that are better for this kind of thing but convenience for college id like a laptop.

Would ideally like to customize my own so was wondering if anyone knew any sites apart from pcspecialist that do this or if you can recommend a laptop that would be great.

the needs are:
Unity 3D
Blender/Maya
Photoshop.

Thanks all

Honest suggestion. Get a desktop for using at your diggs and then get a cheap laptop/tablet for anything mobile you want to do like typing work at the uni library, you can get some very good deals on cheap laptops that would be ideal for typing. You wont regret doing it that way as at least you can keep a desktop relevant throughout your course and benefit for the time saving that it will offer you in comparison to the limitations that would happen with going in using only a laptop.

yeah i had a hard think to do that and just get a cheap runner to keep me going with typing work etc but itd be handy to have a laptop (to handle those programs) so i can do things on the fly.

I think you know the answer you need high end laptop with graphics card for what you want. Before buying anything check out computers that are free to use at your place of study you may get away without buying anything
