off to uni in september to study web design and need (..want?) a more powerful laptop (and mines on its last legs too!). looking at a max spend of 700! not really bothered about playing games on it, but would want to run programs like dreamweaver, photoshop etc. have looked at this laptop at play.com (apparently quite powerful?!)

http://play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3273970/Acer_Aspire_5633WLMi_Core_2_Duo_T5500_1_66_GHz_15_4_TFT_Laptop_Notebook/Product.html

would prefer to get an apple core 2 duo laptop but for the added cost is it worth it?? and obviously not going to uni, will it be worth buying one nearer the time?? if anyones got any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated! ta!

Do you need it right now? I think you'd be better waiting closer to the time.

Loads of companies have great deals at that time, as they know people are heading back to school/uni... :) And 6 months is quite long in the lifespan of a laptop :)
