all the supermarkets do name labels that come with a laundry pen that stays put very well on the label or directly on the clothes. usually about £1 or a pack of about 50.
but you are absolutely right you must, must , must label their clothes or within the month you'll have to buy more.

I use iron -on labels as found that the pen ( even proper fabric markers) - wears off after 2-3 washes and I forget to keep checking them........................

Have used a company called easy2name for years now (they do all sorts of labels, and have always been very accomodating about reducing the font size for my kids long double-barelled surname to reduce the need for HUGE labels) as they seem to stay "stuck" better than most. They turn an order round in a matter of a few days too

yes as wonder-baby said I know Asda sell them as bought one recently, they are normally with all the cottons and needles. My local Asda was giving kits away the other day with behaviour charts, laundry pens and labels for free so might be worth asking in your local if they have any left behind the counter.

Agree - I've used them for a long time and never had a problem with any of their labels. Highly recommend.!
For emergencies, I always keep a fabric pen to hand - less than 50p from Wilkos.

I've always used a good old biro on the size label tab, stays on fine may have to rewrite after 3 months or so but a quick fix so he doesn't get it nicked

Marks and Spencers Iron on Labels are good. I think I paid £5 for 50 and they print them while you wait

You can also get sew on labels with your choice of name in studio cards, I find it doesn't really matter if your childs name is on the uniform or not, they still misplace them.
Our school has started to sell the unclaimed uniforms, to raise funds.
