Looking for a romantic shortbreak

I'm just looking for a short romantic weekend for my parents. e.g. Friday to Sunday.
I thought a trip to Rome,Venice,Paris, but I'm concerned it's maybe not enough time to spend e.g. 2/3 days in Rome. I don't want to stress them.

Hope somebody can give me some nice ideas,as I'm a bit overwhelmed with all .

Thanks for any help!

We've done Brussels and Bruges on separate occasions, both a Eurostar ride away (actually need a connecting train for Bruges) .
Fly to Pisa and 3 days in Viareggio if they just want to relax and people watch.
Theres a lot to do in Rome, It would be ok if you dont want o do all of the sights, but it is a great place, can be very hot to.
Rome is so lovely. You dont have to see everything and they can always just sit in the cafes and take it all in.
What about Barcelona? I went there with the girls for the weekend and had a great time, just booked to go back with my boyfriend. When we went we flew out on Friday early evening and flew back on Sunday afternoon. But maybe you could see about going on the Friday Morning? I would advise to check that the flight goes to Barcelona not Gerona though as that adds about an hour travellng time each way.
does it have to be abroad? this place looks lovely..www.nansloe-manor.co.uk
as a thought - Gerona is beautiful in its own right, lovely old town to walk around, much quieter than Barcelona
and fantastic Salvador Dahli musuem in Fugeres not far away.
