we got a good one from dfs, as when we lived in our sudio flat we needed a decent sofa bed. So maybe try a proper sofa shop. The one i got has a thick matress and has a sprung base as well so was very comfy! Or perhaps you could get a out down cupboard bed instead.?? The bad thing about sofa beds is that they never seam to last...

If you have a bad back I would 110% AVOID getting a sofa bed, it will only make your back worse. Even the shop staff will tell you not to use as a replacement for a proper bed.

Have you got a big garden or a garage?

If you have a big garden - Get a big shed, let your son use that as a room.

If you have a garage - Make that into a bedroom

saw this in a friends house of ours in germany. they had a 2 bed flat with a boy and girl, so they split the bedroom in 2 by putting a large wardrobe in the middle. so they had trheir indivdual space.

Not sure if you rent from council or what, but I didn't think that 2 children boy and girl were allowed to share a bedroom once 1 them reaches 10 yr old.
Just thought I mention it if your cramped and you rent from council etc have you been getting onto them for a move.
