defo the sims.

dont know what type of budget you are on but this game is excellent for all the ages including the younger girls as it has mini games and targets to work towards as well as being able to just choose the free play game.
My niece loved this when I bought it for her, the pets can have puppies and kittens too and you can have whatever breed of animal and colours you like.
It's £2.99 here at base, excellent game

You can also get sims life stories and sims castaway stories, although they seem to be more expensive at the moment - but perhaps you could get them one each? or if they dont all live together perhaps you could just get them the pets stories one for each of them?
