Trying to book a two night stay in london for 2 adults 2 children dont mind all being in one room. Need to go 10th Aug or 11th. Think its going to be cheaper to get family railcard using the morrisons discount and booking the train seperate to the hotel. Any help greatfully received. Thanks

A couple of years ago I booked what I thought looked like a good hotel in Kensington over the internet. On arriving it looked really nice. Wasn't until entering that I realised that it, and all the surrounding hotels were being used as asylum refuges for foreigners. It was like I'd landed in Poland or whatever country the language they all spoke!! Even the front desk and all staff members could barely speak English.

Book a well known hotel and not whatever is cheap and looks nice in the photo.

sorry, I hastily assumed that you were referring to the hotel at the top of the page. Where did you book?

Holidayinn have a special offer running, which provides 2 nights for the price of 1, so if you're a little flexible with dates, you can definitely get a fantastic deal...just have a play around and look at the hotels nearby.

why not try the universities in London - they all rent rooms during the summer vacations. LSE is just by Covent Garden and has doubles from £45 http://www.lsevacations.co.uk/
