Not being funny but can you not just swop the pendant holder for a 2 prong holder, very simple job.
Pendant holder costs less than a quid.

Just moved in to the property, don't have a clue about light fittings, where would I get the pendent from and what do I do?

All you have to do is unscrew the top of the old one, loosen off the 2 wires then reconnect the wires to the new pendant. 2 minute job.
PS...make sure the electric is isolated first.
