Not sure about hotel deals, I live down the road, if you let me know your choices I'll give you feedback on them!
http://www.blackpoolhotel.com/

big blue hotel is new and will be your travel lodge style bed and sink but it backs right onto the pleasure beach!, there is a holiday inn i think just off the M55 about 10 mins from the centre by car, B&Q do the best breakfasts in the NW too!

The imperial is just out of town and is probably as nice as your going to get.

If your after a BandB although not in a great place the old coach house has good reviews and is about almost on the front its owners who won all of the awards have moved to http://www.blackpool-hotels.co.uk/numberone.html.

DO NOT GO TO NORBRECK CASTLE.

The de vere is just out of town about 10 mins by car and is very nice indeed, play golf there a fair bit.

If your not fussed about being directly in blackpool. St. Annes is about 5 mins down the road by car (Great bus links too!) and has some nice hotels on the front.

Oh and to confuse things further...I was on my dads account - alfiejts.
:)

Agree about the Norbreck Castle, under no circumstances go to this hotel, it seriously is the pits! I work in travel and had the misfortune to stay there as a conference was being held there, never ever ever again will I stay there.

I heard really bad reports about Norbreck Castle, was gonna book there myself and was told not to it's a dive!

I used to work as a hotel consultant for a company in London, and stayed in Blackpool for a few days whilst doing a project there.

As others have said, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES STAY AT THE NORBRECK CASTLE!! I would rather not go on holiday at all than stay at that dump. It really is as bad as it gets. It is like a prison, just not as well kept!! Truly shocking place.

The best I would say are these...

- The De Vere is the best, lovely surroundings and a ver pleasant hotel, although it is out of town, but still only 10 mins drive to all the action.

- The Big Blue will be a lot cheaper and is in the heart of the action. Might be a bit noisy next to the pleasure beach (one room has a rollercoaster going past 1 metre from the window) but it is all pretty much sound proof so you shouldnt have a problem. It is only a few years old so still in good condition and is brilliant for kids. The rooms have mini-tvs that show cartoons. Also, a brillian tropical fish tank behind reception which is worth going to have a look at on its own!

- The Imperial, another good option. Priced somewhere betweent he De Vere and Big Blue. Getting a bit dated and tired now but still easily habitable.

I have stayed in all 3. I think the Big Blue would be your best bet if you are on a budget.

Norbrek hotel doesn't even have a computer sytem installed yet; if you go and book in they are still running around with pieces of paper on the desk :)

Not sure about the carnival sorry, St. Annes is pretty ace most hte hotels on the front near the swimming baths are all good! Dalmenea, fernlea all have their own pools + gym + nice bars. e.t.c (check the spellings!)

I've notices banners going up around st. annes if the carnival your thinking of is that, then all it is is the town club day, its complete crap and no one ever goes so I really wouldn't worry about it!

I'm off in a couple of weeks and staying at the Sandpiper Hotel, £20 PPPN, but buy 3 nights and get one free :) It's right on the South Coast, too!

If it's on the South Coast, it's not going to be much use to her. Blackpool's on the north-west coast!!!!

To be honest, no hotels in blackpool will promote themselves, best thing to do would be to put them in order of preference ring them and say if you can offer me a better deal ring me back on...

Thanks for all your help, have got hotel sorted at last just need to find out if any offers/promos for the touristie things. Any help please let me know.:-D

The Warwick Hotel is a very good family hotel. has an indoor pool and is located 5 minutes walk away from the Pleasure Beach. We have stopped there and loved it - albeit out of season.

StAnnes is a far nicer place to stay. I'd recommend the StIves hotel. the Dalmeney next to it is very plush and a lot more expensive.
