Before you consider any of the not so known companies I would recommend Googling them, some of the above are not UK based and therefore you may have warranty issues etc.

http://www.egears.co.uk are OK (presently at £178.99 + £4 delivery), these come from the USA but have fast shipping with DHL.

If you want the underwater case, check out campkins online, which are about £20 less than everywhere else.

The egears version comes with a USA charger plug with foldable prongs that dissapear completely into the compact charger body. They supply a USA to UK adapter. This means the egears charger has no cable, which is great if you are travelling light! For the continent you can just take a tiny USA to European adapter. I prefer this to the UK one which has a standard figure of 8 cable and 13 amp plug.

By the way if you need a spare battery they have some good 1600 mAh ones on ebay, compare that with the 1000mAh one the camera is supplied with. I bought several of these, they cost next to nothing. For example, 2 x 1600mAh batteries shipped with an extra car / mains charger, around £10 delivered. However be aware that some Chinese charger do not have the third connector for temperature detection, so they are not so good. In my case, I just considered it worth it for the batteries alone, and regarded the charger as a handy extra to be kept in the car. The replacement batteries seem to charge well on the original Panasonic charger.

only problem is you have no uk warranty,

I was aware that egears were US based, but I do believe it has no substantive effect. Here's how I understand it:

egears UK HQ is at 483 Green Lanes, London, N13 4BS

Panasonic do a worldwide guarantee. I have registered the camera with Panasonic.

I paid by credit card, so I am protected by the Consumer Credit Act 1977 - section 75, equal liability

In the unlikely event I had a problem with the camera, I would first contact egears, see what they said, and if they refused any responsibility or tried to get me to post to USA withhout promising a postage refund if defective I would get my money back from the credit card company instead, or try Panasonic.

I have searched for egears and review, or egears and problem, all I could find was a blogger who was annoyed because delivery wasn't quick enough. Others have speculated about the lack of guarantee, but I can't find an incident to back this up.

However I would appreciate if anyone actually knows of a real life problem with egears. I will keep my eyes out too, and post here if I find anything.

By the way I also notice that egears is included on the HUKD list of traders.

AFTERTHOUGHT:
I just sent this to egears, I will let you know their response...
Hello, I understand you are USA based. If I buy a Panasonic camera from you and it goes faulty in 6 months, what should I do to get the problem resolved?
Let's see what they say!!
