Hello. I'm searching for an all-in-one printer wth some features that helps student : inexpensive, low-cost on ink refill, fast text print + scan . That's it. I don't much care about the color print quality&speed as well as the scan quality. Guys, could you please help me to find a good deal for this.

So far, I've been searching and found :

Canon Pixma MP160 : 39.99 pounds ( icl:delivery) @ InkRaider + refill black ink : PG-40 is around 11 pounds/ cartridge --> this is the best one I've found for the price and quality. Hence, If anyone knows any deal for the ink , pls tell me.

HP-F380 ; HP-C3180 - they have nearly the same price - but i'm not really sure about quality and ink cost. Some of the reviews could be brilliant.

Thank you very much.

Can't go wrong with an HP mate. They last years too I still have mine from my college days which was around 7 years ago! Still works too.

Never had a problem with it. It's a HP PSC 750 so something along those lines would be perfect for you.

This looks fairly similar in build and quality.

just to say that a 16ml black (remanufactured) will cost up to £14
The 18ml Remanufactured tri-colour cartridge will also cost £14 (remember run out of 1 colour and you need a new cartridge)

To somewhat echo yipykayay's recommendation...

I've just picked up an Epson Stylus DX4450 at PC World for £40. Ink is separate cartridges and pretty cheap. Photo quality is decent and it works as a stand-alone photocopier too.

You can get a whole set of cartridges for under £20.

I have printed over 50 x 4x6 photos using it so far and the cartridges are more than half-full, so it's a good balance between cost and quality.

Hope it helps.

Yes the ink was fairly pricey but it can be had on eBay at a cheap enough price. I used to buy it in bulk myself. All you have to look out for is the use by dates!

It depends what you are looking for really. The Epson does sound like a good deal to be honest.
