maximum weight load for a Renault Megane Scenic

Hello, my son's father (who we don't live with) has given up trying to get a bike (50 cc motorbike) he wants to give to our son ready for him. He has told us that it won't start at all and he wants me to drive down (a 56 mile round trip) to pick it up in my car. I think he is being ridiculous about this as I don't think my car will take the weight, or even if it will fit in it - I have a Renault Megane Scenic 1.6. My son has also told him that we would not even be able to lift the bike out of the car if we did get it home. Am I right in thinking that my car could not carry that sort of load? Thank you.

Found this, not sure if helpful. Probably more detailed info in your handbook.
I know I have a sticker on inside of door (megane coupe) and it has tyre pressures and something else, maybe weight. Might be worth checking yours?

You would prob need to know weight/size of bike

I wouldn't be keen on trying to get that into my car but that's just me :) I wouldn't risk doing damage to car.

If it's too heavy to lift then I wouldn't fancy trying to get it in the car!! Is it worth even getting it??

Thank you much appreciated. Not going to try it at all, as think it would damage my car also cause quite a bit of a mess inside the car.

a 50cc moped is going to weigh about the same as a fat person :|
I've had 200kg motorbikes in the back of my car no problem

The weight of a moped won't be a problem, it's the size and getting it to fit in that will be the tricky part. Two people should be able to lift it in and out if it fits.

And you'd need to secure it down in case of an accident, 200kg smacking you in the back of the head is going to ruin your day!
