Plus i'd like a legal version ideally. Someone has given me the money to buy it, so just looking for the best deal.

Anything under £100 is a good price. Just get the person to give you £87 :)

I find SK1's answer a very good advice which leads to saving money which is the whole point of this forum, you should thank him for his effort to reply rather than being rude to him in your answer.

Erm, the OP asked a specific question?

If he'd asked for cheaper alternatives to the software he'd suggested then the response would have been entirely accurate. But it wasn't.

In any event, I don't know why I'm responding to you..........you're so high up on your moral horse that you can't possibly hear me :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

thanks chuckles. if i had have asked for cheapest office 2007 price or cheaper alternatives then yes his offer would have been good. but with someone wanting to buy me office 2007 and me liking it quite a lot having tried the demo, its not the sort of answer i want. yes, this forum is about saving money, on the items people want. I want the best possible deal for office 2007, not an office product in general. (rant over)

Agree, even if it doesn't help the OP, it could well save another member.
No point in being rude either.

Agreed, if the OP wasn't aware of OpenOffice it could've been extremely useful and could be very useful for other users. Some people just don't realise there's a completely free alternative to MS Office that's every bit as good. Others are happy to pay £100ish for what they know, it's personal preference but not one that should prevent helpful suggestions. You can always ignore advice, you can't take advantage of advice you've never been given!

So am I meant to be psychic? From the OP it wasn't clear that you had already intended to buy this product alone, such petulance from someone asking for advice is incredible. You can not ask people for help and then tell them to F.O. if you didn't find their advise useful, we're not being paid to advise you personally, there are other people who use this board. :x

Abuse report issued, mods should respond shortly.

petulance you say? and who issued the report? you may wish to re-read your post. had it said something along the lines of 'if you are looking for an office-based product in general, then open office is available for free', then perhaps a different response would have been seen.
